She was taught to survive, no matter what, and survive she has.
She lies low and keeps herself to herself. She makes friends with people who she thinks can protect her, and really, what's wrong with that?

I was going to add more to this but in the end I decided to avoid overworking it.
I used one brush throughout ~ a basic soft round brush with added noise.
