This is Hikari, and shhhh it's a secret, but the dog is actually Rang ( this chappy [link] )
I didn't just decide to draw him as a dog for fun ~ he's an elf too but he can shape-shift into a dog, as well as a bunch of other things.
Whatever form he's in, he's always protected Hikari (she's done her fair share of protecting him too of course) and they would die for one another.

Maybe a dog is boring considering I could have chosen pretty much any animal, but there was logic in my decision.
I don't think an elf would often chill with any kind of impressive mythological beast, just as you don't catch many humans chilling with tigers or komodo dragons.
Dogs are good company, and generally, MOST IMPORTANTLY, they don't try and eat you.
I wanted to do a happy, relaxed picture rather than some kind of battle scene, so this made sense.

I would like to thank Aeris, my boyfriend's dog, for being a dog and having a face. It came in handy for reference.

Even if I didn't read all about what this picture was about, I'd still enjoy it. An elf and her dog/friend, and the title is so perfect. Because that's what our animals are in our lives;best friends to the end.They are loyal and love unconditionally. Can't say that for a unicorn or dragon,really.Don't worry,I've got a wiener dog in my entry,so dogs are not boring!
I like her outfit,too.She looks like a very charming elf-girl,down to earth too.
